Mental Health First Aid - 2018 schedule

April 27th - November 13th— 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

This FREE one day class teaches the common risk factors and warning signs of specific types of illnesses such as anxiety, depression, substance use disorder, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.

Mental Health First Aid offers a tailored supplement that builds upon the effectiveness of the standard Mental Health First Aid curriculum by focusing on the unique experiences and needs of specific groups. We offer three modules:  youth, military/vets, older adults.

Ongoing Support Group Meetings

 

Overeaters Annoymous Group

Meets Mondays and Thursdays at 6:30 pm at Trinty United Methodist Church.  Contact George Stamm at 715-828-4633 or frgccss@sbcglobal.net for more information.

 

Suicide Prevention Groups

HSHS Sacred Heart and St. Joseph's hospitals' 3D Community Health hosts free sessions for groups who would like to learn how to recognize the warning signs that someone may be thinking about suicide, and how to help them. The training is called Question, Persuade, Refer or QPR. Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save a life. Call 715-717-7429 to schedule a class.

 

Grief Support Groups

The Grief Support Group offers the opportunity for participants to discuss or listen about adjusting to life without their loved one. The ongoing group sessions are free of charge and are facilitated by a collaborative group of grief professionals. The group offers sessions the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 6:30 to 8 PM.

For those who have experienced the loss of a child, attend the Compassionate Friends support group the third Thursday each month from 6:30 to 8 PM.

 

Depressed Annoymous Group
